How new cities join
No launch dates and no hype. A city grows here the way communities actually grow, one listing and one gathering at a time. That is how this works: Echode is the map, and each city keeps its own local home, run the local way. Houston's home is HoustonDeafNetwork, and its address here, echode.com/htx, always points to it.
It starts with people
Someone local suggests a Deaf-owned business, a helpful service, a resource worth knowing. There is no magic number, but around ten solid listings is usually when a page starts to feel alive instead of empty.
Things keep happening
Meetups, interpreted shows, game nights, church gatherings. When things happen more than once, the city has a pulse, and people have a reason to keep coming back.
The city goes live
The city gets its own page here and its own short address, like echode.com/satx for San Antonio.
What is Echode?
ECHO is the signal. DE is the Deaf community. Think of an echo as a signal. You send one out... a hand waving to get someone's attention, a light flashing, a post, a sign... and something comes back: a reply, a connection, a community answering. That back and forth is how Deaf community life already works: visual, direct, person to person. Echode started as a small company name years ago; today it is becoming the umbrella for local Deaf community networks across Texas.

No bloat, no noise. Just what the community needs.
One more thing, so there is no confusion about who is behind this: Echode is a personal project. I built it and I keep it running, and it is honestly not about me. The communities are the point. If you want to help your city grow here, my arms are open.
